About Us
The Newnan Historical Golf Preservation Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation established in 2025. The foundation aims to preserve local golf heritage, expand access to the sport, and enrich the community through education, charitable engagement, and historical stewardship. Its activities include supporting golf within the local school system; encouraging non-traditional players to take up golf; offering playing opportunities; providing equipment and lessons; organizing tournaments and competitions; and offering historical programming through meetings, speeches, and exhibits. All endeavors will be conducted with the assistance of industry professionals and other interested individuals.
Mission
To promote, enhance, and preserve golf in the Newnan area, and to educate the community about its rich historical significance.
Governance
The Foundation is entrusted to a four-member Board of Directors consisting of Arthur B. Edge, Steve Frey, John Fanning, and Woody Waters, each serving identical four-year terms.
Funding
Will come primarily from private donations, solicited informally through word-of-mouth. Contributions will be used exclusively to support service and educational programs aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
